Teachers and Creators: Lead an Online Studio through Original
Original, a marketplace for online, instructor-led studios that inspire kids to work on their own projects, is looking for ten outstanding STEAM instructors for its fall pilot. Each instructor will develop a theme for a studio and lead one online session per week for five weeks, receiving pay of $1,000.
Original was founded to create a new type of learning space for kids—one where they have autonomy to work on any project or activity they want, but receive strong supports and feedback on the path they take. Studios cover project areas that genuinely interest kids: designing games, making movies, building Lego, building Minecraft structures, researching weird topics—anything! Our goal is to inspire kids to become deeply immersed in their own work.
Original instructors have two main responsibilities. After students share work, instructors create personalized video responses, sharing feedback, offering ideas, and pointing students to learning resources that might help them with their next step. Then, once per week, instructors lead a live zoom session with all their students where they share-out progress, offer ideas, and model useful tools and tricks.
