Academic Consultant, Makerspaces (Baylor University, full-time)

Seeking creative and analytical type for our Academic Consultant, Makerspaces role in Baylor University Libraries. Purpose

The Academic Consultant, Makerspaces is responsible for providing expertise, support, and access to technology and creative labs for faculty, staff, and students.

Position Description

Provide technical and creative maker consultation, support and resources for faculty, staff, and students. 30%
Oversee operation of the library makerspace, including equipment, software, and supplies. 20%
Promote use of the makerspace and foster and develop its user communities, including development, facilitation, and coordination of training programs and events. 20%
Other projects and duties to explore connections between maker activities and adjacent/emerging technologies. 15%
Train, support, delegate work assignments to, and oversee projects of select members of the student work force. 10%
Respond to after-hours service requests in the makerspace. 5%

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant work experience is required. A Master’s degree in the field of Engineering, Computer Science, Fine Arts, or Entrepreneurship, and two years of relevant work experience are preferred.
