Purpose
The Academic Consultant, Makerspaces is responsible for providing expertise, support, and access to technology and creative labs for faculty, staff, and students.
Position Description
| Provide technical and creative maker consultation, support and resources for faculty, staff, and students. | 30% |
| Oversee operation of the library makerspace, including equipment, software, and supplies. | 20% |
| Promote use of the makerspace and foster and develop its user communities, including development, facilitation, and coordination of training programs and events. | 20% |
| Other projects and duties to explore connections between maker activities and adjacent/emerging technologies. | 15% |
| Train, support, delegate work assignments to, and oversee projects of select members of the student work force. | 10% |
| Respond to after-hours service requests in the makerspace. | 5% |
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant work experience is required. A Master’s degree in the field of Engineering, Computer Science, Fine Arts, or Entrepreneurship, and two years of relevant work experience are preferred.
